I forget my phone sometimes. Or I’ll make a cup of coffee for the trip to work and leave it sitting on the counter. I have been known to forget a birthday. I forgot a hair appointment just the other day! I’m not a “forgetful” person… In fact I try very hard to be a thoughtful person. Though I fail miserably sometimes, I do try.
Isn’t that exactly what Satan wants us to do? Fail miserably? Forget?? Forget about the blessings we have? Forget about a kindness someone did for us? Forget about the good stuff and focus on the negative? Forget who we are in Christ? Of all the things I’ve forgotten in a lifetime, forgetting who I am is not optional. Because God says of me I am
Hidden in Christ
Made in the image of the Giver of Life
Righteous and Holy
Reborn and Remade
Accepted and Worthy
This is our new name
This is who we are now!
I need this song that’s filling my brain today. It’s Jason Gray’s song called I Am New. I’ve had a week full of people trying to make me forget who I am and Whose I am. But as the song says,
I am not who I was, I’m being remade
I am new
I am chosen and holy and I’m dearly loved
I am new
I chose the featured image because it helps me remember that I was born a child of God, pure and innocent, a blank page for God to write His love on my heart and life.
Thank you, Father, for reminding me this morning that I am Yours. Your grace IS sufficient!!
